The City of New York

"New York is a city that impresses, even captivating, but it is not an easy city"

New York is the most cosmopolitan city in the United States and, somehow, the symbol of American life. New York is immense. Everything you look you'll find, from a Ukrainian restaurant to a museum shaped objects with typical Tibetan temple monks. Hotels in New York are the most varied to be found, but usually even a humble room in a low price can be costly. Likewise, the most luxurious hotels in the world are also in New York.

All big

New York is a city that impresses, even captivating, but not a single city. You've gotta be a cutting-edge architecture, a runaway thought for his own variety, a financial mindset, artistic, revolutionary ... Because New York is the capital of it. New York is home to over eight million people, and is composed of several neighborhoods with a completely different character. The main are five: Manhattan, Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens and Richmond. However, for tourists it is best to focus on touring Manhattan, where modern skyscrapers and main shopping, cultural and entertainment centers of the city rise. New York is home to more 8 million people.

Manhattan

This district (the typical picture of an island filled with sea skyscrapers around) is divided into three: Downtown Manhattan (south of the island and original nucleus of the city), Midtown (between 14th Street and Central Park) and Uptown (north of Central Park). Downtown consists of Battery Park, Statue of Liberty, Financial District (Wall Street), the South Street Seaport and the neighborhoods of Chinatown, Lower East Side, TriBeCa, Little Italy, SoHo and Greenwich Village (divided into East and West Village).

Times Square: the heart of Manhattan
Simple confluence of a couple of streets, this triangular space can not be considered a place in the strictest sense, something that has not prevented its unique geography is the unavoidable crossroads where a hundred years are the vanguards. Icon consumer civilization, Times Square is the essence of all that hyperbolic distinguishes the city symbol.

The noise did not stop linotypes the intersection of Broadway and Seventh Avenue remained the meeting place for gangsters and prostitutes. Rogue gambling houses where there was no local prohibition of illegal gambling, meeting countless streeptease and opened. The arrival of the square and surrounding major theaters such animals did not dissolve, living for decades magic tables with cold hardness of that forbidden world.

Times Square continued its unstoppable way. In 1929 moved to one of its facades first neon sign that looked at the world. The Coca Cola installed a slogan for generations of American credo: "The pause that refreshes."

Just as it is the image Picadilly Circus London, and Puerta del Sol, Madrid, Times Square is the quintessential representation of New York.
